Four Months...

I got to spend the morning of my 4 month birthday with my Kindred spirit, Carter. She lives far away so this was my first time meeting her and I loved her. Her and I share the same birthday. She turned 376 months when I turned 4 months. Man, I thought I was getting old!! She brought over hats, cupcakes, and some fun blow toys to help us celebrate...pretty much, BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! I would post more pics of me and Carter but apparently mom's eyesight at 7:30 in the morning wasn't great and since she was focusing manually most came out blurry. Next time she'll have her coffee BEFORE pictures!

My first fourth..excitement prevails

Dear Loved Ones --

I'm not even going to apologize anymore for the delays in posting because the other night as I lay in a puddle of drool and a lake of guilt I realized..hey, this is MY blog and nobody owns me (theologically this could be debated I guess)-- I'll post when I want to.

Whoa, I just reread that and realized it's probably not a very nice way to start this post so let me start over --
Dear Loved Ones --

HEY YA'LL..I'VE MISSED YOU!

Let me catch you up on my latest happenings. So, tomorrow is a big one for me. Count it..one, two, three and FOUR months and counting. Fitting that I celebrated the fourth of July in my fourth month of life but yet, not surprising at all. Just another reminder that I rule For those of you born in December and celebrated Cinco De Mayo during your fifth month of life..well, you rule too (yes, I am speaking to you, Hudson and Will -- love you, bros (insert pound and explosion)). Sooo, I don't even know where to start but here's a few updates with some pics thrown in. Some of the pics make sense depending on what I'm typing and some don't - if that's a problem for you then I'd recommend writing your own blog so I can be the peanut gallery:

1. Since my last post I have since rolled over from tummy to back about 7 more times. However, since doing that I have again stopped. I'm like a teaser..a commercial if you will, that leaves you hanging and wanting more yet I never air the actual episode. Speaking of episodes..me and dad during our latest "dun-na-na..."

2. I'm enormous. I've been called, "healthy" on more than one occasion and I think overheard someone ask mom what she feeds me. Mom answered, "99% breast milk and sometimes a little formula - no solids" to which the nice person responded.."Are you serious?? What..does your body make half and half instead of milk??" You know, I haven't quite gotten enough coordination to control what fingers of mine open and close but I'm pretty sure after that comment I realized mom had it figured out. I tried to binge and purge once but it just wasn't worth it....

3. I'm learning to hit at toys and can actually be entertained by things that hang. Usually when mom puts me on a mat under a sea of hanging toys I first try to see if just my stare alone can get them to move back and forth. After that doesn't happen my arms start doing what mom likes to call, "the robot" and in an apparently NOT SO fluid movement I end up accidentally, I mean intentionally hitting one of the 26 toys that line from head to toe above me and then mom claps for me. Sometimes it's more entertaining just watching mom clap for me knowing deep down inside I had no clue what I was doing but my reflexes put mom into a whirl of emotion and excitement.

4. I eat 4 times per day. I'm really not picky with what I eat. Make it mom's milk, make it formula..I don't care, just make it warm and make it a lot. FYI to all you skinny babies...you don't get this kind of junx in your trunks by being picky, people. If you stop me from eating before I feel full and then sit me up I WILL start squealing at the top of my lungs as if you're going to starve me. It's not a cry and it's not happy - it's literally just "insert food source into mouth IMMEDIATELY." I can't afford to lose out on any calories---September is approaching quickly and I have a 12 months broncos jumpsuit hanging in my closest just calling my name.

5. Over the fourth of July I met my cousin Haley (aka: Hale-storm..aka: The Storm). I love her passionately because her and I are polar opposites. For starters, Haley weighs less than I do and she is about 5 months older than me..awesome. Clearly she is a picky eater and I am not (see #4 above). She doesn't love sleep and I love sleep. She smiles A LOT and well, they call me Stonewall. She crawls and is on the verge of walking and I dare not roll over again. She's got a little case of the ole' Stranger Danger but me..I don't care who you are so long as your shoulder can fit into my mouth. But, I love her like my sister and we share a lack of hair. In fact, like any good big sister would do...I think the little Storm was first to kick me in an area that is hidden by my diaper...but this time my diaper was off. I realized then why that area is always double protected by the diaper. We shared a bath together for about 5 minutes before that happened. It's cool though, Storm..whatever doesn't kill me only makes me stronger and blood is thicker than water -- maybe that's why it hurt so bad and the impact was so strong---they really should make water thicker. My parents love her parents a lot and it was a blast hanging out.

Oh and for those of you wondering..yes, I did retaliate. I pinched her.

I later repented and asked for forgiveness. She forgave me.
Now..we're besties...

6. Adding to that I got to meet my second cousins as well..Ethan, Lauren, and Colin. Colin and I are going to sumo-wrestle next time we are together. I loved meeting everyone and now I get why Mom and Dad were so excited to get to Delaware and why they are so excited to do it again next year. Maybe I'll be rolling over more consistently at this time next year. Don't hold your breath....

7. I go to the nursery now during church. Today I think mom checked on me about 27 times in the span of an hour but each time I was apparently just flashing my pearly whites (or pinkish gums) to the ladies and showing them how I can fit my whole fist into my mouth. I'm pretty sure they were impressed.

Alright. I gotta hit the crib and you gotta get back to work. I leave you with a little photo shoot mom took of me and dad...enjoy!

Luv, G$
