I'm not sure if you guys knew this or not but...I'm a big boy. I don't mean just like, "oh hey, I'm growing up and getting bigger" - NO, I mean like, at my 6 month birthday I heard phrases like, "95th percentile" and "off the charts." Dad tells me all the time now that I'm the tallest boy in the world my age. Mom tries to correct him, "No honey, there are actually other children out there that are 'off the charts'" to which he always responds, "well then the charts are wrong." - that usually ends the conversation. Either way, I ain't no lightweight and if you plan to buy clothes for me for Christmas (or Columbus Day--no need to rule out Columbus Day) - I'd look in the 12 month sizes or above. You heard me..12 months OR above.
On a serious note about that. I don't say the above lightheartedly. Today I had the pleasure of spending the day with dad...yes, that's right..the WHOLE day with Dad as mom "HAD to go play in a golf tournament all day" and so it was Dad's day to dress me. He picked out his outfit of choice and after the fight to get it buttoned in the lower half and me wondering if this was supposed to be a 3/4 length sleeve shirt I'm pretty sure I heard dad say, "well Son, I know it's tight but it's on you now and I don't think I can even get it off if I tried" -- AWESOME. So within 10 minutes of my usual drool stream I was pretty much in a wetsuit for the day. First off..see the picture just above..you can't even see where my shirt neck ends b/c it's being pulled so low. Next, See Exhibit B below:
Umm..so moving forward past my chin(s) and yes, I too see the line in my chin in that picture above and no, I don't know if it really looks like that in real life and yes, I would like you to tell me if you notice it next time you see me as I would rather NOT look like the dad in Family Guy and if that's the direction I'm headed then yes, I may try to get surgery done sooner than later to correct this issue........I have been baptized. Yup, sprinkled with the water and declared a child of the Covenant. Praise Jesus!! NO, like seriously, PRAISE JESUS. What a big day for me and mom and dad and all the members of West End Pres. who stood up and said they would assist mom and dad in raising me in a Christian home and pointing me to the Lord. I overheard Mom and Dad saying the other day that they would specifically be excited for you guys to do that on Saturday evenings so if you feel so called to point me to the Lord during a Saturday evening shift (Mom and Dad promise to not stick around while you do this) - I can send out a sign-up sheet for the rest of October and the month of November. Just leave a comment and let me know :).
So, other big news is that I can rock a playground now. I own those swings and sometimes I have to hold my legs up to keep them from touching the ground. THAT is how tall I am.
I would like to tell you that I have two teeth. Both the bottom and it makes eating those kiddo cheese puffs SO much fun. I really enjoy when mom or dad feeds me so when I see one of those cheesy, puffy, curled pieces of goodness I just open my mouth and let them insert and then all you can hear is "crunch, crunch, crunch" as it goes in and dissolves away on my gums. With this whole feeding thing and mom and dad trying to get me to pick up food on my own and put it in my mouth..me and Daisy have become BFFs. Usually it looks like this -
Step 1: Mom puts cheesy puff goodness on my tray to keep me distracted while she prepares my meal.
Step 2: I drool all over my hands.
Step 3: I throw my hands down on the tray in a somewhat controlled manner and am able to get the oh so cheesy goodness stuck on my hand. Literally, stuck on my hand..I don't even need to clasp it with my fingers b/c like a magnet to a refrigerator, that bad boy is just stuck on my palm.
Step 4. Get real excited and flail my hands out to the side in Daisy's direction.
Step 5. Daisy eats ever so stuck cheesy goodness off my hand and I squeal with delight b/c it tickles.
Step 6. Mom looks over and sees aforementioned cheesy goodness is gone and assumes I have eaten and praises me with excitement.
Step 7: I get more cheesy goodness on my tray since I did such a good job and Daisy gives me a wink ;)
Step 8: Repeat steps above.
Okay, and since this has gotten too long let me just summarize other big happenings (or lack there of) - I still don't crawl but am rolling over with much more frequency. Diaper changing has become a sport for mom and dad as I do all I can to NOT stay on my back as they change o' so dirty diaper. I can go from sitting up to being on my stomach all by myself. I'm starting to get some hair (let's not get crazy on this though people - I'm short on the sides and longer on the top just like my Pops). Mom and Dad officially had to lower my crib since I learned how to turn on my mobile all by myself. That ruled. It was like TV in my bed since my mobile has a projection button that pretty much just turns on sports center with the touch of a button. My pop pop would be so proud to know that mom and dad have woken up numerous nights to "dah nah na..dah nah na!" --
